Weekly Courses
Our weekly courses offer eight two-hour sessions, once a week, meeting on Zoom (online). Each eight-week series is focused on a different theme, based on where we are in the cycle of the Jewish calendar.
In each session of the weekly courses, we begin with a communal ritual, followed by a creative prompt or exercise, and then participate in a facilitated discussion where we give and receive useful and nurturing feedback. This class structure is designed to help each individual creator grow, and to foster connection and community together.
Drop-in Sessions
Our drop-in classes are creativity sessions that are one-off, not requiring a repeated commitment to multiple sessions. They begin with an opening ritual, followed by a creative writing prompt and individual writing-creating time. The group then returns to share work and give feedback followed by a closing ritual.
The drop-in classes are framed as two series:
For our monthly Levana sessions, we come together in the time between the new and full moons, and our writing prompts reflect on the themes and happenings of the Hebrew months.
For our quarterly Tekufa sessions, we follow the movements of the sun and its seasons, and meet on the solstices and equinoxes.
Custom Workshops
We believe that nothing brings people together like co-creation!
In our open enrollment classes, the Briya Project aims to build community from those who may not know each other yet. We also recognize that many are fortunate to be part of organizations, congregations, communities, and families that seek ways to enrich their connections and to share new experiences.
The Briya Project would be delighted to work with you to customize courses based on the needs and goals of your community. We can structure and facilitate classes that include: writing prompts and exercises to help individuals connect with their inner voices; guidance in how to give feedback on others' creative work to promote creative growth and communal support; ritual moments and creating ritual; group exercises to strengthen the beloved community; creating safe, non-judgmental, brave spaces; making a creative project together; fun and connection; and more!
We are happy to work with your schedule to find the length of class that is appropriate for your organization. Pricing will depend on the particulars of the class, and we can offer an estimate after hearing from you about your preferences. Please note that for the time being, we are exclusively offering courses on Zoom, out of concern for safety and mobility needs.
